Air passengers and their relatives have harrowing time, flight diverted
Passengers of a flight from Saudi Arabia have not landed at Nedumbasserry airport even after lapse of nearly 24 hours as the flight was diverted to Chennai owing to bad weather.

The flight carrying a few hundred passengers was scheduled to land at Nedumbasserry international airport at 11 am on Sunday.

Hundreds of kith and kin of nearly 100 Malayali passengers on the flight have been waiting at Nedumbasserry to receive them.

They recounted the excruciating experience they had as no information was passed on to them about the diversion of the flight.

The passengers who landed in Chennai were not given food or accommodation for hours together, according to the parents of the passengers who had staged sit-in protest at Nedumbasserry.
