Recent times have wrought disruptive interventions on the people in several ways, for they had to queue themselves up before various authorities.

Earlier, for exchanging banned notes, for Aadhaar, PAN card, corrections and what not, they had to sweat it out.

22 killed, 15 injured in bus-truck smash in Bareilly, UP
Twenty-two people have been killws and 15 others injured as a bus collided with a truck near the Bareilly bypass in Uttar Pradesh late last night.

The injured have been taken to the district hospital and the bodies are badly charred as the bus caught fire following the collision.

Magnitude 5 quake rocks Delhi, Haryana
An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck Delhi and adjoining areas of National Capital Region (NCR) early morning today, the India Meteorological Department said.

The earthquake struck at 4:25 am and had its epicenter near Rohtak in Haryana. The tremors lasted for nearly one minute.

Madras HC stays cattle slaughter ban order for four weeks
The Madras High Court today stayed for four weeks the Centre's notification banning sale and purchase of cattle for slaughter.

In its interim order, a Madurai bench comprising Justices M V Muralidharan and C V Karthikeyan directed the central government to file its counter in four weeks.
